Felici Fanfare - Find out what Zohe and Co. are making a big whoop about!

Tasty Time at #RinconBeachClub

On the chilly night of February 22, nothing pleased the Felici Events team more than being greeted at Rincon Beach Club by a friendly face and a margarita on the rocks! The tasting event was a night to remember, with an endless supply of exemplary food and an impressive selection of wedding ceremony set ups, and lounge and table settings. Rincon Beach Club never ceases to amaze us and the tasting event was no exception.

These playful beach themed place cards were complete with smooth sand and seashells. They presented other creative options suitable for a wide variety of event themes.

These simple place cards were tied with delicate ribbons and dangled from colorful knobs.

Beyond the entryway was a spacious patio displaying an impressive selection of wedding ceremony set ups, table settings, and lounge spaces.

This wedding ceremony set up embodied a bride’s dream of a fairytale beach wedding. The delicate white and light pink ribbons caught the salty breeze, adding a sweet, dreamlike tone to the setting.

The other option was a simpler approach, detailed with a flowing white curtain secured with large sea stars.

Keeping with the general beach theme, the mason jar flower holders were reminiscent of treasured sea glass. Clear glass candleholders and jars hanging from a mossy piece of driftwood tied the playful table setting together.

The roomier lounge space consisting of luxurious leather couches and ottomans offered a perfect place for party guests to relax in comfort.

The other lounge option featured an inviting space for guests to cuddle next to a cozy fireplace on inviting leather couches.

A range of uniquely themed food stations was placed throughout the room, including Pacific Rim and Hamburger Sliders, among others. Each station was decorated with an extraordinary attention to detail, and exemplified Rincon’s versatility and unmatched ability to adapt to any event’s theme. The Pacific Rim station was adorned with colorful Asian fans, bamboo shoots, and a vibrant silk tablecloth. The food was cooked right in front of us by a friendly chef, and featured an array of exotic food representing the Asian theme. The table settings were equally impressive and flaunted the talents of various local vendors. The table settings ranged from simple to extravagant.

This particular table setting was a tasteful example of a simple, earthy theme, complete with a rusted lantern and worn picture frame.

Hacienda Themed Party

In honor of Fiesta currently going on in Santa Barbara, we are sharing this Hacienda Themed party we produced for UCSB’s Board of Regents.  This thirty-five year old  Old Spanish Days celebration is a reminder of the Mexican spirit of the town and preservation of the heritage.

I was tickled pink to have been hired to produce this event, because I was born in Mexico City, and celebrated first-hand the folklore of the culture.  One philosophy I carry with producing my events, is incorporating the five senses in order to enhance the guest experience.

From the sights and beauty of decor:

Authentic Mexican decor and colorful floral by NLC Productions and colorful linens by La Tavola

(sombreros and daisy’s floating in the pool)

(the view of the Santa  Ynez Mountains and Hacienda style home – featured on Architectural Digest – location helped)

The sound of an incredibly talented all female Mariachi band – Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles

The smell and taste of authentic Mexican Food by Cowboy Flavor which we showcased in a mercado-style custom built buffet.

Indisputably perfect ingredients for another Felici Event!

Felici Events attends Event Planner Day Part 1: Triunfo Creek Vineyards

Felici Events is usually busy with the planning side of events, but recently, we had the pleasure of attending an Event Planner Day.

The day included an exclusive wine tasting and tour of three venues in the Malibu area. The tour of the first venue began at Triunfo Creek Vineyards where we tasted Malibu Valley Vineyards Reserve Syrah and tried appetizers. We finished off the tour with mini cheesecakes from the Pacific Cheesecake Company. It is a rustic, unique venue with great potential to hold exquisite events. Although many vineyards are located in Santa Barbara, this 50 acre venue provides the experience of a vineyard in a more convenient event location to those living in more southern areas of California. Take a look at some of the photos we snapped while on the tour! Stay tuned for venues 2 and 3 of the Event Planner Day!

The Number One (of four) Ingredient for Planning a Great Party

I am 100% Italian, therefore it was inevitable to be born a party planner.  I was barely out of the womb when I started entertaining and indubitably my career led me hospitality and then throwing  great parties as a living.

You see, Italians, or “I Paesani”, are the epitome of entertainers and hosts who ensure that all occasions are celebrated and done so with GUSTO!

My NUMBER ONE of four things you must have to host a memorable party will make or break a party, can you guess what it is?
Remember, I am Italian.  Close your eyes and imagine yourself in Italy.  What is the one thing you think of when imagining Italy?

FOOD:

Felici rule number one is: Don’t let people leave hungry.  Both my grandmothers as well as my mom  taught me that Italiafact.  I’ve been well fed with fresh ingredients, home cooked meals and generations of recipes my entire life.  As a family, we sat to a delicious home cooked dinner every night while I was growing up. To me, this upbringing makes a difference, food = event.

I practiced this rule last November when I threw my launch party.  Both my heritage along with appreciation of good food and fresh ingredients dictated the theme of my event.  It was also important to me to host a larger number of guests, and therefore my budget had to have some bang for the buck without compromising fresh delicious food.

I contacted California Woodfired Catering and had them cater the soiree.  That was a great decision!

The best part, I got three bangs for my buck.

1-Effortless: The set up, rental and service needs were minimal

2-A Show: Just like in my family’s house, guests gathered around the wood-fired oven area watching the chef make pizzas with the fresh ingredients and pulling it out of the piping hot oven.  It also sparked up quite a bit of conversation amongst all.

3-Finger Lickin’ Good:  The food was delicious.  It is just shy of one year later, and people are still talking about the yumy pizza!

Thanks Mike!
